Sales Force Marketing - Salesforce.com CRM:
CRM - Innovate to Rejuvenate Your Revenue

Traditionally, one of the strongest incentives for sales-based organizations to adopt CRM has always been to drive revenue growth. However, recent surveys suggest that CRM is increasingly viewed less and less among these organizations as catalyst for revenue gains.

What happened? Has CRM finally lost its appeal? Does it contribute less value to companies now than it did before? One possible reason could be that our perceptions towards the value of CRM has changed since CRM technologies and advancements which were once considered ground-breaking innovations have become mainstream and commonplace. Features such as contact management and predictive analysis software are now pretty much the standard in many sales-based organizations.

Thus, we are likely to perceive CRM's contribution to revenue enhancement as lesser as we come to expect these features as part of the status quo.

However, the fault may lie simply in the fact that we have gotten too comfortable with our present CRM technologies. After its initially adoption and implementation, over the years we forgot to revisit CRM systems and processes to evaluate whether they are still relevant to our needs and thus, we do our customers, our employees and our shareholders a great disservice.
If you think that your present CRM system is not contributing as much to your organization's revenue growth as it could be, maybe it's time to take another look at what you have at hand, and what is available out there. In recent years, CRM concepts and technologies has moved forward by leaps and bounds, especially in the internet age as concepts such as cloud-computing have opened up new horizons and exciting possibilities.

Organizations need to return their focus to strengthening revenue gains by creatively innovating CRM to optimise the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of sales departments and personnel.

Like a high performance motor engine, CRM processes and systems need to be checked regularly, and tweaked into optimal performance when necessary. If you cannot remember when was the last time you had a look under the hood of your CRM system, chances are your CRM 'engine' is in need of an overhaul.
